Morning Prayer for September 24
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
It is good for me to draw near to God
Today’s takeaway: Coming close to God is good for you, and He is waiting to be gracious to you.
LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
A day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience
Prayer
O God, it is good for me to draw near to You. A day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in Your house than dwell in the tents of wickedness. You are good to those who wait for You and seek You. Through the blood of Jesus I have boldness to enter, so I draw near with a true heart this morning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
