Evening Prayer for September 24

About 2–3 minutes · 12 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

Today’s takeaway: Once you have tasted Christ's grace, you know it is sufficient for every need.

The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips

All bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth.

Ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself

We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Before you pray

How has the Lord's grace been sufficient for you lately?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, grace is poured into Your lips, and people marveled at Your gracious words. I have tasted that You are gracious. I sat down under Your shadow with delight. You said to Paul, and You say to me, My grace is sufficient for you. Grace has been given to each of us. Help me use what I have received to serve others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
