Morning Prayer for September 20
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Today’s takeaway: True wisdom begins with knowing God, and it is found in Christ.
Whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, … But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
Christ Jesus, … is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption
He that winneth souls is wise.
Prayer
LORD, happy is the one who finds wisdom, and the fear of You is where wisdom begins. Let me not glory in my wisdom, strength, or riches, but only in knowing You. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He is made to me wisdom and righteousness. Whoever finds Him finds life. Make me wise today, and let me win others for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
