Morning Prayer for September 2
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart
Today’s takeaway: Wait on the LORD with courage, because the God who never tires gives strength to the weary.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? … He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Prayer
LORD, I will wait on You and be of good courage, and You will strengthen my heart. You are the everlasting God; You do not faint or grow weary. You give power to the faint. Do not let me be afraid or dismayed, for You are my God. When my faith is tested, let patience have its perfect work. I will not throw away my confidence. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
