Morning Prayer for September 15
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Today’s takeaway: Under grace sin no longer rules you, so live in the freedom Christ gives.
My brethren, ye … are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
If the Son … shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Prayer
Father, sin will not have dominion over me, because I am not under the law but under grace. I died to the law through the body of Christ so that I might belong to Him. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. If the Son makes me free, I am free indeed. Help me stand fast in that freedom today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
