Evening Prayer for September 15
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Today’s takeaway: Do not waver between two minds, but stay steady in faith and keep serving God.
No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, … grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ
Abide in me
Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Before you pray
Where were you double-minded today?
Prayer
Lord, a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. I have been divided lately, wanting You and wanting other things too. Anyone who looks back from the plow is not fit for the kingdom. Tonight I give You my whole heart again. Make me steadfast and unmovable. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
