Morning Prayer for September 14

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

I, even I, am he that comforteth you

Today’s takeaway: God comforts you in every trouble so that you can comfort others.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth

Helpeth our infirmities

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Prayer

Father of mercies and God of all comfort, You comfort me in all my trouble. As a father pities his children, and as a mother comforts her child, so You comfort me. You are full of compassion, gracious, and longsuffering. You gave me the Comforter, who helps my weakness. One day You will wipe away every tear. Today I cast my care on You, because You care for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
