Morning Prayer for September 10
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them
Today’s takeaway: God gives His people a new heart, so guard your peace and unity with other believers.
A new heart … will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
I … beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, … Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Prayer
LORD, give me one heart and one way, so that I will fear You forever. You have promised a new heart and a new spirit. You are good and upright, and You teach sinners the way. Jesus prayed that we would all be one. Help me walk worthy of my calling with humility, gentleness, and patience, keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
