God’s Word

The fruit of the Spirit is love

Today’s takeaway: Meekness is a fruit of the Spirit, so learn gentleness and humility from Jesus.

The meek … shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, … is in the sight of God of great price.

Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up

Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; … but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are meek and lowly in heart, and You invite me to learn from You. You were oppressed and afflicted, yet You did not open Your mouth. When You were insulted, You did not insult in return. Give me a meek and quiet spirit today, which is precious in Your sight. Make me like a little child, humble and trusting. Let me follow Your steps. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
