Morning Prayer for October 7
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
The meek will he teach his way.
Today’s takeaway: God guides the humble, so when you do not know what to do, look to Him.
Blessed are the meek
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God
Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth
Prayer
Father, You teach the meek Your way. The race is not always to the swift or the battle to the strong. My heart plans my way, but You direct my steps. I lift my eyes to You, as a servant watches his master's hand. Cause me to know the way I should walk. I lack wisdom this morning, so I ask You for it, and You give generously. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
