Morning Prayer for October 4
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
Today’s takeaway: Like Moses, let time with God shape you, and give Him all the glory.
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory
Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
In lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Be clothed with humility
Was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
All that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on … saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
The glory which thou gavest me I have given them
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Prayer
LORD, Moses did not know that his face shone after he had been with You. Let me reflect Your glory today without noticing it myself. Not to me, O LORD, but to Your name be the glory. Clothe me with humility, and help me count others better than myself. As I look at Your glory, change me into the same image. Let my light shine for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
