Morning Prayer for October 20

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

I delight in the law of God after the inward man

Today’s takeaway: Let God's Word be your delight and daily food, and then live it out.

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart

I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass

Prayer

O God, I delight in Your law in my inner self. Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your words were found, and I ate them, and they were the joy of my heart. I value Your words more than my necessary food. They are more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey. Help me be a doer of the word today, not a hearer only. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
