Morning Prayer for October 2

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

The goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

Today’s takeaway: Like the scapegoat, Jesus carried your sins far away, where they cannot be found.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Prayer

Father, on the Day of Atonement the goat carried all Israel's sins away into a land not inhabited. Jesus carried mine. As far as the east is from the west, so far You have removed my transgressions. You cast my sins into the depths of the sea. All of us like sheep have gone astray, and You laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Behind Him my sins are gone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
