Morning Prayer for October 13
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
From the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard
Today’s takeaway: God hears you from the moment you humbly seek Him.
Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
Prayer
LORD, from the first day Daniel humbled himself before You, his words were heard. You dwell with the humble and contrite. There is pride in me that I would rather not see. Show it to me gently this morning. I humble myself under Your mighty hand. You are good and ready to forgive, so I come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
