Morning Prayer for October 11
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Be not far from me; for trouble is near
Today’s takeaway: When God seems far away, keep calling on Him, because He is near to all who call.
How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily?
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Prayer
O LORD, do not be far from me, for trouble is near. Some days I ask how long You will seem to forget me. Do not hide Your face. You promised that when I call, You will answer and be with me in trouble. You are near to all who call on You in truth. Jesus will not leave me comfortless. My soul waits only on You, for my hope is from You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
