Evening Prayer for October 11

About 2–3 minutes · 12 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Hallowed be thy name.

Today’s takeaway: God is holy, holy, holy, and through Jesus' blood you may still draw near.

Thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God

Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty

Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

I saw … the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: … And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

That we might be partakers of his holiness.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus

Let us draw near with a true heart

Before you pray

How did you honor God's name today?

Prayer

Father, hallowed be Your name. There is no one like You, glorious in holiness. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Isaiah saw You high and lifted up and cried, Woe is me, for I am undone. Yet the blood of Jesus cleanses me, and I can draw near. Let Your name be holy in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
