God’s Word

Praying in the Holy Ghost

Today’s takeaway: Pray in the Spirit, who helps you pray according to God's will.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We … have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

The Spirit … helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us

When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication

Prayer

Father, through Christ I have access to You by one Spirit. Teach me to pray in the Holy Spirit. You are Spirit, and I want to worship You in spirit and in truth. When I do not know what to pray, Your Spirit helps me. This is my confidence: if I ask anything according to Your will, You hear me. Let me pray like Jesus, not my will but Yours. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
