Evening Prayer for November 21

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

His dear Son

Today’s takeaway: The Father loves you as He loves His Son, so rest in that love tonight.

Lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth

The only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love

The glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God

Before you pray

What would change if you believed the Father loves you as He loves His Son?

Prayer

Father, Jesus is Your beloved Son, and You sent Him so that I might live through Him. You love us as You love Him. That is hard for me to believe tonight. Let it sink in as I go to sleep. What manner of love is this, that I should be called Your child. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
