Morning Prayer for November 18
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
He stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
Today’s takeaway: God tempers your trials and never lets them go beyond what you can bear.
Let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great
I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: … I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not
Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Prayer
Father, You hold back the rough wind in the day of the east wind. Your mercies are great. You correct me in measure, and You will not always chide. You know my frame and remember that I am dust. You spare me as a man spares his own son. You will not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear, and Jesus has prayed that my faith will not fail. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
