Evening Prayer for November 18
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me
Today’s takeaway: Whatever you have heard about Jesus, the reality is even more glorious than you imagine.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
We beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
My speech and my preaching was … in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty
We shall see him as he is.
In my flesh shall I see God
I shall be satisfied
Before you pray
What about Jesus do you most want to see for yourself?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, the queen of Sheba said that not even half had been told her about Solomon, and a greater than Solomon is here. I know You only in part. Tonight I ask to know You more. One day I will see the King in His beauty and be satisfied. Until then, show me a little more of Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
