Evening Prayer for November 17
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Today’s takeaway: You reap what you sow, so keep doing good and do not grow weary.
They that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
They have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind
He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption
To him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
He that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Before you pray
What did you sow today, and what do you want to reap?
Prayer
Father, whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Those who sow the wind reap the whirlwind. If I sow to my flesh, I will reap corruption, but if I sow to the Spirit, I will reap life everlasting. Whoever sows righteousness has a sure reward. Help me not grow weary in doing good, and let me sow generously. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
