Morning Prayer for May 6
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Today’s takeaway: At the cross God's justice and mercy met, so He can forgive you and still be just.
A just God and a Saviour
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Prayer
O God, at the cross mercy and truth met together. You are just, and You justify the one who believes in Jesus. I bring You no works this morning, only faith. When the voice of accusation starts in my head today, help me answer it with the cross. Let me live forgiven and free. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
