Morning Prayer for May 24
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Today’s takeaway: The Holy Spirit lives in you, so take care not to grieve Him by how you live.
The love of the Spirit
The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of … inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities
Prayer
Father, You have given me Your Holy Spirit, the Comforter, and sealed me with Him until the day of redemption. Keep me from grieving Him today with careless words, bitterness, or stubbornness. He helps me in my weakness, even when I do not know how to pray. Let me walk in the Spirit, so I will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Thank You for His love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
