Morning Prayer for May 21
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Today’s takeaway: When you feel weak, rely on God's strength, which works best through weakness.
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
The gospel of Christ: … is the power of God unto salvation
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The joy of the LORD is your strength.
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness
Prayer
Lord, I am an earthen vessel, and I feel it this morning. But You put Your treasure in clay jars so that the power would be seen as Yours and not mine. Your grace is sufficient for me, and Your strength is made perfect in weakness. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD. Strengthen me with all might, according to Your glorious power, for patience and joy today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
