Morning Prayer for May 15
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
God shall wipe away all tears … there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, … for the former things are passed away.
Today’s takeaway: One day death, sickness, and sorrow will be gone forever from God's people.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
The voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
The things which are not seen are eternal.
Prayer
Lord GOD, one day You will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death, sorrow, or pain. No one there will say, I am sick. Today I may meet someone who is sick or grieving. Let me carry this hope to them gently, and let it carry me through my own hard moments too. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
