Morning Prayer for March 2

About 2–3 minutes · 5 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

Today’s takeaway: God can make you fruitful in hardship and use your comfort to help others who hurt.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ

The Lord stood with me, and strengthened me

Let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Prayer

Father of mercies, Joseph found that You made him fruitful in the land of his affliction. I bring You my hard places this morning. Comfort me in them, and then let me carry that comfort to someone else who is hurting. If this heaviness is for a season, let it prove my faith, not break it. I commit my soul to You, my faithful Creator, and I will keep doing good today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
