Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi

Today’s takeaway: With God on your side, you do not need to fear any enemy tonight.

If God be for us, who can be against us?

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Behold, God himself is with us for our captain

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Before you pray

What battle did you face today, and did you fight it in your own strength or the Lord's?

Prayer

LORD, You are my banner. Today had its battles, and I fought some of them in my own strength. Tonight I lift my eyes to You. If You are for me, who can be against me? The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. The nations may rage, but the Lamb will overcome. I lie down tonight without fear. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
