Morning Prayer for March 16
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
What is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Today’s takeaway: Life is short and quickly gone, but Jesus never changes.
My days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good. They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: … in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down
The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Prayer
Lord God, my life is a vapor. My days run faster than a messenger, and I am like grass. That sobers me this morning. Help me not to waste today on things that do not matter. Show me one person to love well, one task to do faithfully, and one moment to stop and remember You. Jesus Christ is the same forever. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
