Evening Prayer for March 16

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Today’s takeaway: Sing praise to God with both heart and mind, and let thanks end your day.

Be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God

I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps

Before you pray

What song or hymn could you carry into tomorrow?

Prayer

Lord, it is good to sing praises to You; it is pleasant, and praise is fitting. Fill me with Your Spirit tonight, and let the word of Christ dwell in me richly. Before I sleep I want to make melody in my heart to You, with my spirit and with my understanding too. Let my mouth speak Your praise until I hear the song of heaven. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
