Evening Prayer for March 15

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is

Today’s takeaway: The God who made the stars by His word also remembers and cares for you.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Before you pray

What in creation reminded you of God's glory today?

Prayer

LORD, You made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. You spoke, and it was done; You commanded, and it stood fast. Tonight the heavens declare Your glory above my house. Compared to You the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and yet You are mindful of me. The One who holds the stars holds my life too, so I can sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
