Morning Prayer for March 15
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Perfect through sufferings.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus faced deep sorrow and loneliness for you, so He understands yours.
My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, in the garden Your soul was exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. You prayed in agony, and Your sweat fell like great drops of blood. You looked for comfort and found none. Yet You said to the Father, Not as I will, but as You will. Thank You for walking that road for me. Give me the same surrender in the smaller trials I face today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
