Morning Prayer for March 14
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Today’s takeaway: Let your everyday conduct make the gospel look beautiful to the people around you.
Let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; … But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
Be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, let my life today make the gospel look beautiful. Let my conduct match what I say I believe. Keep me from even the appearance of evil. Make me blameless and harmless, shining like a light in a crooked world, so that people see my good works and glorify my Father in heaven. Bind mercy and truth around my neck. Fill my mind with whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
