Morning Prayer for June 7
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Men ought always to pray, and not to faint
Today’s takeaway: Keep praying and do not give up, because God welcomes persistent prayer.
Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
As a prince hast thou power with God and with men
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving
Went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You spent whole nights in prayer, and You told us to always pray and not lose heart. You told the story of the friend who kept knocking at midnight until he got what he needed. Teach me that kind of persistence. Like Jacob, I will not let You go unless You bless me. Help me continue in prayer today, watching with thanksgiving. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
