Morning Prayer for June 23
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, … Even the Spirit of truth
Today’s takeaway: The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, who assures you that you are God's child.
It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if … depart, I will send him unto you.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God
Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit … helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
Prayer
Father, Jesus said it was good for us that He went away, because then the Comforter would come. Thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit. He tells my spirit that I am Your child. He helps me when I am weak. Fill me today with all joy and peace in believing, so that I overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
