Morning Prayer for June 18
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and … there I will meet with thee
Today’s takeaway: Because the veil was torn at the cross, you can come boldly to God.
The way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom
Having … brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God
Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Prayer
Father, You told Moses You would meet him above the mercy seat. Now the veil is torn, and I can come boldly by the blood of Jesus. This morning I draw near, not with my record but with His. Meet me here, and give me mercy and grace for what I will face today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
