Morning Prayer for June 16

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

That ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Today’s takeaway: Use your time wisely and live watchfully, because the Bridegroom is coming.

Take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, … to love the LORD … your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if … do these things, ye shall never fall

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching

Prayer

Lord, help me walk carefully today, not as a fool but as wise, making the most of my time, because the days are evil. Let my speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt. Keep me from even the appearance of evil. While the Bridegroom seems to delay, keep me from spiritual drowsiness. I want to be found watching when He comes. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
