Evening Prayer for June 16

About 2–3 minutes · 11 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Today’s takeaway: Even small faith that holds on to Jesus is precious, so keep going to the end.

If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. … I will; be thou clean.

Faith as a grain of mustard seed

Cast not away … your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD

The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

So run, that ye may obtain.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day

Before you pray

What small step of faith did you take today?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, one woman only touched the hem of Your garment, and she was healed. A leper asked if You were willing, and You said, I will. My faith feels as small as a mustard seed tonight, but it is in You. Help me hold fast what I have. Grow my faith slowly, like grain in a field. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
