Evening Prayer for June 15

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The Spirit, … maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Today’s takeaway: The Spirit helps you pray, and God's will for you is joy, prayer, and thanks.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit

This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

This is the will of God, even your sanctification

God hath … called us … unto holiness. … who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.

Before you pray

What did you thank God for today, and what did you forget to?

Prayer

Father, Jesus told us to ask in His name, so that our joy would be full. Your Spirit prays for me according to Your will, and Your will is my sanctification. So tonight I rejoice, I pray, and I give thanks, for this is Your will for me in Christ Jesus. Do not let me quench Your Spirit. Make me holy. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
