Morning Prayer for July 9

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Today’s takeaway: God takes away your filthy rags and clothes you in Christ's righteousness.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

We are all as an unclean thing

I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

As many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him

Not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but … the righteousness which is of God by faith

Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him

The fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness

Prayer

LORD, like Joshua the high priest, I stand before You in filthy clothes. All my own righteousness is like an unclean thing. But You have caused my iniquity to pass from me, and You clothe me with clean garments. I have put on Christ. The father put the best robe on his returning son, and You have clothed me with the garments of salvation. I rejoice in You today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
