Evening Prayer for July 8

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee

Today’s takeaway: The evil one has no claim on those who belong to God, so keep yourself close to Him.

Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

An high priest … holy, harmless, undefiled

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience

Whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Before you pray

What did you let into your heart today that has no place there?

Prayer

Holy Father, my fellowship is with You and with Your Son. When the prince of this world came to Jesus, he found nothing in Him. Search me tonight and remove whatever the enemy could use in me. Whoever is born of You is kept, and the wicked one cannot touch him. Keep me pure, as Christ is pure. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
