Evening Prayer for July 9
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
The day shall declare it
Today’s takeaway: Leave judging to the Lord, who sees the heart, and look to your own walk with Him.
Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more
God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ
The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son
The Son … And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
The Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings
Before you pray
Were you quick to judge someone today?
Prayer
Lord, You tell me not to judge before the time. Only You see the hidden things of the heart. Each of us will give account of himself to You. Forgive me for the harsh verdicts I passed on others today. You are great in counsel and mighty in work, and all judgment belongs to Your Son. I leave it with Him. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
