Morning Prayer for July 8
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Today’s takeaway: Confess your sin honestly, because God is faithful to forgive and cleanse you.
I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
Your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
That he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean
They shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood.
Prayer
Father, I acknowledge my sins this morning, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned. But if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me. You have blotted out my transgressions like a thick cloud. You forgave me for Christ's sake. You are just, and You justify the one who believes in Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
