Morning Prayer for July 6

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Let your speech be alway with grace

Today’s takeaway: Let your words today be gracious and helpful, because God hears what His people say.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

By thy words thou shalt be justified

The tongue of the wise is health.

They that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

If thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, … see that ye abound in this grace also.

Prayer

LORD, let my speech be gracious today, seasoned with salt. A word spoken at the right time is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Keep any corrupt word from coming out of my mouth; let me say only what builds others up and gives grace to those who hear. Those who feared You spoke often to one another, and You listened. Listen to my words today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
