God’s Word

Leaning on Jesus’ bosom

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is as tender as a mother with a child, and He will not forget you.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you

They brought young children to him, that he should touch them

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities

In his love and in his pity he redeemed them

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

The Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, John leaned on Your chest at supper, and You took the little children in Your arms and blessed them. You had compassion on the hungry crowd. As a mother comforts her child, so You comfort me. A mother may forget her nursing child, but You will not forget me. You will not leave me comfortless. Let me stay close to You all day. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
