Morning Prayer for July 28
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Walk in love
Today’s takeaway: Love others in action, forgive quickly, and repay evil with blessing.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Love covereth all sins.
When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You gave us a new commandment: love one another as You have loved us. Help me love today in deed and in truth, not just in words. Let love cover a multitude of faults. Keep me from rejoicing when someone who hurt me stumbles. Help me return blessing for insult, and as much as it depends on me, live at peace with everyone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
