Morning Prayer for July 26
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
By faith Abraham, … called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed
Today’s takeaway: Follow God step by step like Abraham, even when you cannot see where He leads.
He shall choose our inheritance for us
He led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Who teacheth like him?
We walk by faith, not by sight
Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul
Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
Prayer
LORD my God, Abraham went out by faith, not knowing where he was going. I do not know everything about this day either. You choose my inheritance for me. You lead me and teach me what is good, like an eagle teaching her young. Who teaches like You? I walk by faith, not by sight. This world is not my rest; I am a stranger and pilgrim. Lead me on. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
