Evening Prayer for July 25

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Thou wilt shew me the path of life

Today’s takeaway: There is one true way of life, and it is Jesus Himself.

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

I will teach you the good and the right way

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Follow me

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, … leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

An highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Before you pray

Which way did you choose today when the easy way and the right way split?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the way. There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is ruin. Today I faced choices between the easy way and the right way. Forgive me where I chose badly. Tomorrow, keep me on the way of holiness. You said simply, Follow Me. I will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
