Morning Prayer for July 23
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Then cometh the end
Today’s takeaway: No one knows when the end will come, so stay watchful and ready for Jesus.
Of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The coming of the Lord draweth nigh. … the judge standeth before the door.
Surely I come quickly.
Seeing … that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness
The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, the end is coming, and no one knows the day. You told us all to watch. I do not want to be caught living carelessly. Help me live today in holiness and godliness: faithful at work, patient at home, honest with myself. Keep my lamp burning until You come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
