Morning Prayer for July 20
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Today’s takeaway: Live as Jesus lived, doing good and shining as a light in a dark world.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation
Jesus of Nazareth … went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You were in the world but not of it, holy and harmless and separate from sinners, yet You went about doing good. You are the true Light. Now You call me the light of the world, a city on a hill that cannot be hid. As I have opportunity today, let me do good to everyone, so that others will glorify my Father in heaven. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
