Evening Prayer for July 19

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The dew of Hermon

Today’s takeaway: God's Word and Spirit fall like gentle dew, refreshing His people and making them grow.

Mount Sion, which is Hermon

There the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass

As the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

It is like the precious ointment upon the head, … even Aaron’s … that went down to the skirts of his garments

Before you pray

Where do you need God's refreshing tonight?

Prayer

LORD, be like the dew to me tonight. Your word comes down like rain and dew, and it does not return to You empty. From the fullness of Christ I have received grace upon grace. Where Your people dwell together in unity, You command the blessing, even life forevermore. Refresh my soul while I sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
